Organize Wardrobe Closet in Your Beach Condominium

Organize Wardrobe Closet in Your Beach Condominium

Dressing up can cost a bundle now a day.  Even a relaxing coastal community in balmy climate as Thailand, you have to have variety of outfits for different occasions and not limiting to beach wears.  Often, how you look is directly related to how well-maintained your clothes are in the closets.  Carefully selected choice of clothing can make you look good and you want to handle your clothes with care.  It is important to store your clothes properly for them to look better and last longer so you can get as much wear from them as possible.  Make the most out of the closet space you have by arranging your closet for maximum space and accessibility so you will cut down on the amount of time you spend hunting for clothes and getting dressed.  Let the frequency of use be your guide in determine what to keep in the closet and what to stow elsewhere.  Having a neat and organized closet makes putting together an outfit faster, easier and makes life simpler.  Find practical and attractive storage solutions that fit your lifestyle and your closet space.

  • Choose matching hangers:  Proper clothing care calls for appropriate hangers to help maintain the shape of the garments.  Quality hangers help minimize wrinkles.  Having just one style and one color hanger will give your closet an orderly appearance.
  • Group clothing by types and colors:  Hang all your clothes in categories and keep them organized by color within the groups: blouses (long sleeves, short sleeves); skirts (long, short); Jeans; pants; dresses; etc.
  • Shoes:  Choose between a shoe rack on the floor, a hanging shoe organizer, see-through plastic shoe boxes, or original boxes with photographs stapled to them to identify the contents in the boxes.  Plastic shoe boxes are ideal for storing off-season shoes or special occasion pairs that you seldom wear.  Shoes stay dust-free and the clear plastic makes the contents visible.
  • Purses:  Put all the purses in baskets.
  •  Accessories:  Hang belts on hooks.
  • Undergarment, socks and swimwear:  Organize and contain them in clear plastic bins or clear plastic drawers for visibility, flexibility, and accessibility.
  • Folded items:  Arrange folded garments such as sweaters or exercise outfits by function and color (yoga tops together).

Out of season clothes storage ideas:  The weather in Thailand is pleasant all year round.  All you will need here are appropriate, lightweight, comfortable cotton clothing.  What you wear on the airplane or when traveling to countries with colder climate may need to be store away.

  • Stowe shoes or boots you don’t wear frequently in labeled plastic boxes on a high shelf in another closet or under your bed.
  • The real key to keeping your clothes from becoming moths’ food is clean clothes and airtight containers.  Wash or dry-clean clothes according to their care instructions before you store them away for the season.  Choose plastic bins designed for home storage, plastic garment and sweater bags, or metal storage chests.  The tightness of the sealed storage will keep your clothes free from moth damage.  Do not store off-season clothing in dry-cleaning bags; the bags can trap moisture and stain fabrics.  Store items that are not used on a regular basis away, under the bed, or on a top shelf so they are not taking up valuable space in your closet.
  • Install floor-to-ceiling shelving and store rarely used items on the top shelf.  Get a handy folding stepstool for easy access.
